AKAI EIE PRO DOESNT INSTALL!

I cant install drivers for my windows system, I have windows 7 64 bit.
The first time I installed was fine, all until in the end where the installer notified me "Winows required signed drivers, therefore the driver was not installed". The device shows up in my devices (albeit with a problem sign on top of it). The actual device didn't show up in the "sound device" section so I couldn't select it for input or output. So I decided to uninstall the drivers and attempt to reinstall (the 9.4.30 drivers), but during the installation an error appears "0x0006" and I have to exit the installation, I tried multiple restarts and trying to install the newest and oldest drivers, but now all I get is the "0x0006" error.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • if you continue having trouble installing the correct driver you may have a registry issue. See if running a registry cleaner helps.

  • Hi...

    got the same problem here.
Bought the EIE today and tried to install it, but all I got is "Installation failed" with error code 0x0006.
This happens with both drivers .30 and .42.

The system is a fresh installed Win7 Ultimate 64bit.

If I try to install the driver manually via the device manager I get this error message:
No MUI-entry in the Cache of the Ressource-loading-program.

Again: The system is fresh installed... nothing else, no more drivers or other programs at this point...

So please let me know what I can do to get this thing runnin...

  • Hi again,

after consuming tons of coffee I found two possible solutions for this MUI-problem which causes the 0x0006 error.

First solution mentioned by most of the people:
Disable the UAC (in german "Benutzerkontensteuerung"). This was not a solution for me, cause since MS embedded the UAC in Windows the first step after a fresh installation for me is to diasable it... So that was already done.

The second possible solution which I found in the furthest corner of the internet:
Disable the energy option of the USB ports.
Hard to believe... but this works for me.

Maybe this helps others with the same problem...
